DVCNews Debates: Financial vs emotional

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesThere are two schools of thought behind making a Disney Vacation Club purchase.  Some claim that they bought for financial reasons--after a set number of years they will break-even on the up-front investment and then enjoy many years of vacationing for pennies on the dollar.  Others claim to have purchased largely for emotional reasons--to "own a piece of the mouse" or to force feed themselves regular vacations and family bonding time.

DVCNews Debates: Resale benefit restrictions

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesLast week Disney Vacation Club announced that resale contracts purchased after March 20, 2011 would be prohibited from accessing select Member Getaways including the Disney, Adventurer and Concierge Collections.  Some members have suggested that this restriction will result in lower resale values for all DVC contracts.

How do these changes impact your attitude toward future DVC purchases? Does it make you more or less likely to purchase resale?  Does it make you more hesitant to complete ANY DVC point purchase?

DVCNews Debates: What's Next?

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesThere is never any shortage of rumors pointing to a new Disney Vacation Club destination.  In recent months we have recapped evidence pointing to both a Fort Wilderness DVC and a California-themed resort at Walt Disney World.  Other rumors have suggested new units at the Disneyland Hotel or even another non-park destination like National Harbor outside of Washington DC.

With the Bay Lake Tower almost certain to sell out in 2011 and construction lead time running 2.5 to 3 years, it seems likely that a new resort will begin to take shape in the coming months.
