Another Wilderness Lodge renovation permit filed

Wilderness Lodge

The Walt Disney Company has filed another "Notice of Commencement" in relation to its fledgling construction project at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

This recent notice provides scant details other than the stated description "Flooring and Light Fixture Rehab."  The document was recorded by Orange County, Florida on May 4, 2015.  Its requested expiration date is August 31, 2018.

Wilderness Lodge Permit 20150508

Rumors suggest this refurbishment project at the Wilderness Lodge will result in a number of hotel rooms converted to Disney Vacation Club villas.

Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, the thirteenth timeshare resort in Disney's stable, opened to guests on April 1, 2015.  Typical construction lead time of 2-3 years on any new Disney Vacation Club project seemingly lends credence to these rumors.  The projected sell-out window for Polynesian points suggests DVC will need another resort option available in approximately 2018.

A previous Notice of Commencement was filed back in March to erect a temporary construction trailer for project management adjacent to Disney's Wilderness Lodge.
