On this date in 2004, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa officially opened to guests.
On opening day, only one building--located within Congress Park--was available to guests, along with the High Rock Spring pool, Artist's Palette and other resort amenities. Eleven other buildings spread over Congress Park, The Springs and The Paddock were at various stages of construction.
Opening day ceremonies featured the mayor and other residents from the city of Saratoga Springs, New York.
At a ceremony held within days of the opening, Disney also revealed that the resort would be expanded to eighteen buildings including those in The Grandstand and The Paddock.
