Late last week word began to circulate that memebrs with upcoming reservations in the Animal Kingdom Villas Concierge category were being moved to different accommodations. The dates cited were for reservations between September 29 and October 27, 2008. Upon hearing this news, we contacted the Disney Vacation Club to obtain additional details.
Diane Hancock, Manager of Communications for the Disney Vacation Club had this to say:
Members who are booked into the Concierge category at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas during that period may want to contact DVC to see if their stay is being impacted by this closure.Facilities informed us that some exterior painting will require taking rooms out of service due to the requirement for scaffolding. Previously, they thought they could do without the need to take the rooms out of service. They will have to take DVC rooms out of service from 9/29 through 10/27 of this year.
Unfortunately, among these rooms are some of the Concierge rooms at the Villas. Member Services Advisors are contacting the Members affected by this.
