Walt Disney World park tickets increased in price over the weekend. While some have avoided a serious economic blow via the DVC discount increase, others have not been as lucky. Annual Passes for children age 3-9 went up more than 10% while Premium APs increased 5-15% even with the added discounts. Other increases impacted Magic Your Way tickets.
Universal Studios Florida opened the most widely known park addition in recent years: the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. However it isn't the only Orlando-area park looking to wrest some business from Disney. Sea World, Legoland, Busch Gardens and others have also made investments in an attempt to attract new customers away from The Mouse.
One of the unique perks offered to Disney Vacation Club members is the ability to use most other resort pools at Walt Disney World. With a few noteworthy exceptions, members vacationing on their points can utilize the pool facilities at Disney's Polynesian Resort, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Coronado Springs Resort and many others.
Disney Vacation Club continues to build. And when villa accommodations are added to the Polynesian, Fort Wilderness, Disneyland Hotel and others, existing members will want to add points at a favorite location. But what if you already own enough points?
To some members, the view from a room's balcony is a make-or-break aspect of the trip. To others the view is completely irrelevant.
Some members happily pay higher nightly points for a specific view--others gladly pay fewer points with no concern over the specific view.
