Following January's unexplained false start, Disney has revealed the installation schedule for new cable television channels at its Walt Disney World resort hotels.
Installations begin today--March 13--at Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside. The first Disney Vacation Club resort to be upgraded will be Disney's Old Key West Resort on Thursday March 15. The complete list of install dates for DVC resorts is as follows:
Old Key West: March 15
Saratoga Springs: April 3
Animal Kingdom Lodge: April 12
Beach Club: April 17
BoardWalk: April 19
Contemporary: April 24
Wilderness Lodge: May 3
The project is scheduled for completion on May 8 with Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground the last location to receive the upgrades. All Value, Moderate, Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts will receive the new cable TV channel lineup.
Guests staying at several Walt Disney World resorts received a notice in mid-January indicating that the upgrades would be performed later in the week. That deadline passed with no further word on a revised timeline.
Among the channels scheduled to be added are Fox News, TNT, TBS, HGTV, Travel Channel, Food Network and the NFL Network.
