Bay Lake Tower member tour opportunity

General DVC News

Disney Vacation Club is giving existing members the opportunity to tour accommodations at the Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort.  In exchange for an hour or so worth of vacation time, members will receive a guided tour of the newest DVC property, attractive add-on prices and some complimentary DVC swag.

DVCNews.com staff member Marilyn Garfinkel recently attended one of the Bay Lake Tower presentations and provided us with a rundown on the event.

Tour MerchandiseMembers attending the presentation gather in the lobby of the Bay Lake Tower where they are separated into managable groups and taken up to the Top of the World Lounge.  A selection of refreshments awaited in the lounge including finger sandwiches and an assortment of beverages.

Attendees received a tote bag containing DVC promotional literature along with a notepad & pen, lanyard and a trading pin.  Also distributed were the so-called "instant Fast Passes" which allow the user to obtain three Fast Passes with immediate return times.

The sales presentation itself covered all of the resorts currently available for sale along with some discussion of the Aulani resort still under development in Hawai'i.  Numerous raffles were conducted during the presentation to give away larger items including backpacks, beach towels, CD holders and even a $100 Disney Gift Card.

Discounts offered during the tour are better than those available to the general public.  Attendees were offered a discount of $10 per point on 100 or more Tour Merchandisepoints.  Compare that to the current $6 per point published discounts for points at the Bay Lake Tower.  Additional discounts were available for higher purchase points:  $12 off of 125+ and $14 off of 250 or more points

Following the formal presentation, members were given the opportunity to visit the fireworks viewing deck adjacent to the lounge, tour model rooms available at the resort and discuss any sales-related questions with a DVC Cast Member.

The sessions are currently held daily but the exact time may vary.  Advance registration is required.  Interested members should check with a Cast Member at one of the Disney Vacation Club information booths to inquire regarding availability.
