180 Day ADRs Set to Return

WDW Dining News

Multiple sources confirm that Walt Disney World is set to begin accepting Advance Dining Reservations 180 days in advance of guests' arrival date.

On October 27, 2009, Disney will begin accepting dining reservations 180 days in advance of the arrival date for guests with confirmed reservations at a Walt Disney World resort.  Here is a quick summary of how the changeover will impact guests with reservations in early-2010:

October 26, 2009:  Guests with arrivals through January 24, 2010 can make ADRs (90 days in advance.)

October 27, 2009:  Guests with arrivale through April 25, 2010 can make ADRs (180 days in advance.)

Expect heavy call volumes and website traffic the week of October 27th with nearly 3 months' worth of guests simultaneously gaining access to book their dining reservations.

For several years Walt Disney World guests were able to obtain their dinign reservations 180 days in advance.  That changed in December 2008 when Disney announced that the ADR timeframe was being reduced to 90 days prior to arrival.

Some are crediting guest outcry for this return to the longer booking period.  The longer booking window would seem to favor Disney Vacation Club members, many of whom are accustomed to booking their room reservations 11 months in advance.

Advance Dining Reservations can be made by calling 407-WDW-DINE or by visiting http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/.
