Fixed Week option to be offered at Grand Floridian

Grand Floridian

When sales start for the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, buyers will have the option of purchasing traditional Disney Vacation Club points or a Fixed Ownership Interest.

A new filing by Disney Vacation Development confirms the existence of Fixed Ownership Interests.  The Fixed Ownership Interest first appeared at Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas.  It allows the buyer to vacation during a specific week of the year without need for reservations.  Fixed Ownership are confirmed automatically on a priority basis and preempt other Club Members from reserving certain villas on a first-come, first-served basis.

Documents state that Fixed Ownership Interests will be capped at 35% of any specific Use Day for any specific Vacation Home Type at the Grand Floridian. At least 65% of all dates and villa sizes will remain available for booking on points at the resort.

Details have not yet been released about the Fixed Ownership Interest option at the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. In the case of Aulani, the Fixed Ownership Interests are 7-night periods which run from Sunday to the following Sunday. The Aulani Fixed Ownership Interest is sold at a 10% premium over the comparable cost of the number of Vacation Club points for the type of accommodation, the view category, and the season chosen by the owner.

Each year, the Fixed Ownership Interest owner has the option of converting the fixed week into Aulani Home Resort Vacation Club points, which can then be used to book stays at other Disney Vacation Club resorts or to make exchanges as permitted by the DVC rules and regulations.
