I Don't know how I feel about Jim Lewis running DLR. He has done a good job with DVC, and this would be a major career boost for him, but DLR really needs someone promoted from within the Ranks of Anaheim. This is a hard position to take. With Corporate 30 miles away and 800,000 AP holders that scrutinize everything, it is not a Job I would want. Bringing someone in from outside of Anaheim puts that person at an immediate political dissadvantage.

Matt Oumett was the only one who was able to pull it off, the rest since Jack Lindquist retired have been empty suits or total Disasters. Perhaps Jim Lewis could do it, but they may not want to take him away from a division that has been very profitable since he took the helm. I have to admit, when I heard that Grier was retiring, I immedately thought Jim might be considered for the job.

I worked at Epcot about 11 years ago when George K was VP of the park. He seemed to have a good reputation and was quite nice when I had the opportunity to share a table with him at an awards dinner. He's an old timer who has worked in the Disney parks since WDW opened in 71. I think he started by bussing tables at the Contemporary Resort.

Anyway, I would be far more comfortable with a person with such a long history in park and resort operations in charge of DL, rather someone like Jim Lewis who has been primarily in a sales driven arm of the company.
