DVC Safari Spectacular Recap

Earlier this week Disney Vacation Club concluded four weeks of member-exclusive Safari Spectacular events at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park.  For the benefit of those unable to attend, several media outlets have posted coverage of the events.

Website LaughingPlace.com posted a thorough overview of the event.  It appears that only six attractions were open to guests during the event with one--Kilimanjaro Safari--closing early due to concerns over the animals' well being.  The other rides available for attendees included Kali River Rapids, Expedition Everest, Primeval Whirl, It's Tough to be a Bug and Triceratop Spin.

Numerous character meet-and-greet locations were provided, featuring performers from Disney/Pixar films such as 'Up' and "A Bug's Life', 'Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers', 'The Jungle Book' and more.  Also featured were complimentary refreshments, a dance party and other entertainment.  For complete details visit LaughingPlace.com.

Meanwhile WDWNT.com has posted two videos to YouTube showcasing the event.  The first is a 4+ minute overview of the entire Safari Spectacular while the second provides a closer look at the 'Zootopia' dance party.

The Safari Spectacular at Disney's Animal Kingdom was the third after-hours, members-only event hosted at Walt Disney World this year.  Other events offered members free, exclusive access to the Magic Kingdom theme park and Typhoon Lagoon waterpark.  A similar event is currently scheduled for November at Disney California Adventure.

All of these park exclusives have been tied to the 25th anniversary of Disney Vacation Club.  DVC has not yet revealed if such events will continue into 2017.

We looooooooved it! The ONLY thing I wish that would have been different is I wish it would have lasted longer. I ate tons of ice cream and cookies and washed it all down with the free lemonade. I figured I might as well get some of our dues back. LOL!

We never did find the free food - everything we consumed was a 'payable' but, then again, I wouldn't touch lemonade due to heartburn issues plus I don't 'need' ice cream and cookies

We went to the first one on 9/6 and had a blast!
In addition to being able to walk on Expedition Everest multiple times for rides in the dark, the other highlight were the free tickets to play the games in DinoLand.
We did well, won 4 new friends!

That's the night we went. I thought Dinoland was mega crazy that night. I also met Big Fat Panda over there. He was a really nice guy. He's not a DVC Member but he was there on behalf of the guy that owns the DVC Renal Store.
