Disney Vacation Club states that the Mixers will be held in Epcot but times have not yet been published. In recent years, Mixers have been held from 3:00 - 5:00pm in Epcot's World Showplace Pavailion located near the United Kingdom. Attendees are treated to complimentary refreshments, an exclusive Disney Vacation Club Christmas ornament, character meet-and-greet opportunities, dance party, activities for the kids and more.
The Merry Member Mixer is a free gathering offered exclusively to Disney Vacation Club owners and their guests. Disclaimers posted on the DVC member website suggest that members who exclusively own points purchased on the resale market after April 4, 2016 may be ineligible to attend the Merry Member Mixer.

But after attending the last two Merry Mixers, I'm not keen on attending another one in the foreseeable future. With so many Members now belonging to DVC, the Mixers have become more crowded than I like. Last year, we arrived about 30 minutes after the opening of one of the Mixers and we still had to stand in line for about 15 minutes before we entered the Mixer.
Yeah, we're pretty much in the same boat. Attended the very first mixer in (I believe) 2004. That was back before DVC started its explosive growth phase. SSR was in its early stages--only about 20% of the final room count had opened. No Animal Kingdom villas, no Bay Lake, no Treehouses, Grand Flo, Poly, Aulani or Grand Californian. The gatherings were much smaller and more intimate.
Price of success, I suppose. More members = larger crowds.
