Last week we reported on a Passholder preview event at the Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Disney Vacation Club has actually scheduled a series of previews throughout the month of July. Known dates include June 29 - July 2, July 9 - July 12 and July 21 - 24. Both DVC members and non-members with confirmed reservations at Walt Disney World during this period have reported receiving invitations to attend the previews.
Earlier today we posted a link to a YouTube video from the June 29th preview. You can also read a first-hand report from "CynthiaY2" on the DVCNews.com Forum.

We have clarified some information regarding the purchase incentives currently being offered by Disney Vacation Club. In order to receive the lowest prices, new members must have a referral from an existing DVC member. The referral will save buyers an additional $6-8 per point on the purchase. The Disney Cruise Line voyages are also still available, but only with a reduced cash discount.
Additional details can be found on our Pricing & Promotions page.
We are also hearing that those who attend the Bay Lake Tower preview events in the coming weeks will be offered prices a couple dollars per point lower than what is currently available to the general public.

Despite a struggling economy, Disney has managed to keep its theme parks quite busy in recent months. Discount programs and the continuing growth of Disney Vacation Club--which virtually guarantees a steady supply of business from owners--have left the parks as busy as ever.
In fact, crowd levels have lead some to suggest that the parks have grown too busy during many times of the year. Economic principles suggest that the most direct way for Disney to reduce crowds (while maintaining profitability) is to increase ticket prices.
Topic: Given the choice, which do you prefer: larger crowds in the theme parks or higher ticket prices?
