UPDATED: Early VGC Pricing / Points Info

Grand Californian Hotel

Early reports are beginning to surface regarding pricing and sales terms for the Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Resort.  We are double and triple checking information with sources before printing anything, so some details are being withheld at this time.

UPDATE:  Since this story was first posted we've added additional information on the room classes and seasons in the points chart and promotional discounts offered to Founding Members.  We have also confirmed the minimum purchase level.  Click inside to view.

{joso} So far we can safely report the following:

The base price for points will be $112 each

For an add-on of 100+ points there is a discount of $5 off per point plus matching Developer's Points to be used at Saratoga Springs, Disneyland Resort hotels or RCI / World Passport Collection by October 2009

Minimum add-on:  100 points*

Annual dues will start at $3.82 per point

The Founding Member purchase is capped at 500 points

There is only one view / room category.   Rooms will overlook the theme park, pool and woods, but specific areas are obtainable by request only

There are four seasons in the points chart.  Here is a rough idea of where some time periods have been placed:

Adventure:  Most of January and February, September
Choice:  April, May, most of June (excludes Easter)
Magic:  October, most of November, Dec 1-14
Premier:  2 weeks around Easter, Thanksgiving, 3 weeks around Christmas

Examples of point costs:

One Bedroom Choice:  290 points / week (7 nights, Sun - Sat)
Two Bedroom Choice:  385 points / week
One Bedroom Magic:  390 points / week
Two Bedroom Magic:  530 points / week

*Regarding the minimum add-on, right now DVC intends on only allowing add-on purchases of 100 points or more.  This is an aspect of the sale that could change at any time.   If sales under-perform they could allow lower add-ons to Founding Members, or they could have a lower buy-in point when sales open to the rest of the membership on March 26th.  At this time we have no indication that DVC intends to allow smaller add-ons, but it does remain a functional possibility.

More to come!
