As the April 1, 2015 opening date approaches for Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, Disney has started to reveal completion estimates for many of the resort's other construction projects.
Guests with upcoming stays at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are being contacted regarding the status of some construction projects at the resort. The Polynesian’s recently renovated main pool, the Lava Pool, is expected to be open by April 1, 2015, the same day as the first wave of Disney Vacation Club guest rooms. The Lava Pool will have a zero-depth entry, a 142-foot waterslide, and an infinity hot tub.
With the Lava Pool available for guests to enjoy, Disney will begin renovations on the Polynesian’sEast Pool. According to Disney, the East Pool renovations will begin in mid-April 2015 and continue through early 2016.

Although not mentioned in the letter, Steve Seifert of Tikimanpages.com is reporting that Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto should open on March 26 and the kids’ pool should be ready by April 1.
The remodeled lobby in the Great Ceremonial House opened in December 2014. Additional resort enhancements including new water features at the resort’s entrance and the addition of barbecue grills near the DVC longhouses are still in progress. No timetable has been announced by Disney as to when these projects might be completed.
