One quiet pool at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa now requires guests to scan their MagicBands in order to gain entry.
Disney is slowly making progress on plans to place gates around all resort pools at Walt Disney World. The latest pool to receive the barriers is the Congress Park quiet pool at Saratoga Springs Resort.
Back in September 2013, Disney confirmed plans to eventually gate all swimming facilities and enforce operating hours for resort feature pools. Many resort pools have been gradually surrounded by fences during construction or refurbishment. Among the Disney Vacation Club resort pools currently gated are those at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, the pools at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower and Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resort. Fencing was also recently erected around the feature pool at Disney's BoardWalk Villas.
Resort quiet pools are not staffed and will remain available to guests 24 hours per day. However, the facilities are only accessible by current resort guests, requiring that MagicBands be scanned prior to entry.
