November 2015 sales update: Sales drop but Polynesian remain steady

Polynesian Villas

In November 2015, overall direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points for all resorts excluding Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas and the Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel dropped to 98,942 points. This is only the second time since we began tracking sales data in July 2010 that the monthly point total failed to reach the 100,000 point mark.

Compared to sales in October 2015, November saw a drop of 5.86% for the same resorts. Sales for Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows had a smaller decrease of 1.38% from 80,712 points in October to 79,601 points in November.

Disney Vacation Club Direct Sales November 2015

Historically, the month of November is a slow month for DVC point sales. Every November has recorded a drop compared to the previous month, ranging from a decrease of only 1.88% in 2010 to a drop of 29.48% in 2014. Although November 2015 had the second fewest points sold in a month, it still recorded more sales than November 2014 when only 95,614 points were sold. It is also interesting to note that the Polynesian in November 2015 actually sold more points than what the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian sold in November 2014: 79,601 points to 71,922 points.

Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows — With 79,601 points sold in November 2015, the Polynesian has now sold 782,240 points, which is 19.4% of its 4,032,720 total points. The Polynesian is averaging 76,909 points in monthly sales. If that rate of sales continues, it will take another 41 months, or until April 2019, before the Polynesian is completely sold out.

Sales of Guaranteed Week deeds for the Polynesian have slowed considerably since the first few months. 80 Guaranteed Week deeds have been sold, but only four such deeds, including one deed in November, have been sold in the last four months. As with the Grand Floridian, the last six weeks of the year are the most popular: 43 of the 80 Guaranteed Week deeds sold are for the weeks from Thanksgiving to the end of the year. starting. 42 Guaranteed Week deeds are for Lake View studios, 26 deeds are for Standard View studios, and 12 deeds for the over-the-water bungalows.

Disney Vacation Development has declared 10 bungalows and 142 studios for the DVC inventory, which accounts for 40.71% of the Polynesian’s total points. There are still 218 studios and 10 more bungalows that have not yet been declared and are controlled by DVD.

Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas — Sales data for Aulani has only been updated through October 2015 by the Hawaii Bureau of Conveyances. In October, 79,306 points were sold for Aulani, which was just 1,406 points less than what was sold for the Polynesian for that month. In the last 12 months, Aulani has sold an average of 72,081 points a month.

The sales data includes all nine DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, as well as Disney's Vero Beach Resort, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas. Point sales data is not available for the Villas at Disney's Grand California Hotel. The data is compiled from deeds filed by Disney Vacation Development and recorded with the Orange County (FL) Comptroller, the Indian River County (FL) Clerk of Court, the Beaufort County (SC) Register of Deeds, and the Hawaii Bureau of Conveyances.
