DVC at Disneyland Hotel?

Other / Prospective Resort

With the iconic Disneyland Hotel in the early phases of what is essentially a three year rebuild projects, could Disney Vacation Club villas be part of the long-term plan?  Al Lutz from MiceAge.com hears it is part of the plan.

The three towers of the 54-year old Disneyland Hotel are currently undergoing what amounts to a complete refurbishment.  Each of the three towers is being closed for about a year to effectively gut the entire structure and create rooms consistent with what the publc has come to expect in the 21st century.

According to MiceAge.com's Al Lutz, the current plan calls for a fourth tower to ultimately be constructed which would include additional guest rooms and a selection of Disney Vacation Club villas:

"WDI (Walt Disney Imagineering) and TDA (Team Disney Anaheim) have recently bought off on the plan to completely revamp and rebuild the central pool and shopping area in between the three towers, with a fourth tower to be newly constructed by the end of the project that will add hundreds of new rooms and DVC suites."

The current plan calls for the Disneyland Hotel refurbishment to run into 2012, but it is not known whether that schedule includes the proposed construction of a fourth tower or simply the completion of work on the existing three towers.
