Members with confirmed reservations at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas and the Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge in early 2007 have begun to receive notices of pending pool closures.
From January 9th through sometime in late-January, Keister Coaster (the pool slide) at BWV’s Luna Park pool complex with be closed for refurbishment. To soften the blow, DVC has lifted the Stormalong Bay (BCV) pool hopping restriction for BWV guests during this period. Members staying at BWV during the period when Keister Coaster is closed will be able to pool hop to BCV. The resort will even be providing shuttle service for those who don’t wish to make the ½ mile trek on foot.
Guests at the Wilderness Lodge are not quite so fortunate. Reportedly the entire Silver Creek Springs pool complex will be closed from Jaunary 29, 2007 through the end of March and access to Stormalong Bay is NOT being extended to VWL guests. DVC members staying at VWL during this period are welcome to pool hop to all eligible resorts (except during blackout dates), but no additional transportation options are being made available to guests.
