More DVC CR Namedropping at JHM

Bay Lake Tower

Last week Disney blogger Jim Hill posted a look back at some original resort concepts for the Bay Lake / Seven Seas Lagoon area which never came to be.  Among the once-planned projects was the Venetian Resort penciled-in for a plot of land between Disney’s Polynesian Resort and (what is now) Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.  However this land has proved numerous times to be too unstable for construction on the scale of a new resort hotel.

As Jim Hill recaps:

“The old Venetian resort site is off-limits. Which is one of the main reasons that Disney Vacation Club is building its yet-to-officially-be-announced Magic Kingdom Area resort next to the Contemporary, rather than over here.”

This matter-of-fact declaration comes about two weeks after JHM made similar comments regarding the project currently underway adjacent to the Contemporary resort.  The Walt Disney Company has yet to issue any statements which would either confirm or deny a DVC link to this project.
