Ko Olina VP Named

The Walt Disney Company has named Djuan Rivers to the post of vice president for its planned Disney Vacation Club / resort hotel on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. 

According to the Honolulu Advertiser :

Rivers, who relocated to Hawaii from Los Angeles, will work closely with community, business and government leaders as the company moves ahead with development of its 21-acre oceanfront property at Ko Olina Resort, Disney said in a news release.

Rivers has been with Disney for over 20 years in various senior management positions.  He has been on the opening staff of ten resorts in Florida and Paris, and has served as general manager of Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's All-Star Resorts.  



The Ko Olina development was announced in October 2007 with a scheduled opening in 2011.  The project will include as many as 800 guest rooms and villas with at least half of the units reported as being part of the Disney Vacation Club timeshare program.
