The signature restaruant at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villas will soon offer a prix fixe dinner with echoes of a Disney animated classic.
Beginning June 30, 2019, Jiko - The Cooking Place will offer a limited time three course meal inspired by Disney's classic "The Lion King."
The meal begins with the “I Just Can’t Wait to be King” appetizer, featuring Young Cedar Creek clam malata, potatoes, pomegranate, and a bone marrow finish. Diners can select one of two entrees including the Bone-In Ribeye with hibiscus, nettles, and fregula or Lobster Sosatie with red shrimp, squid, mussels, and fragrant rice.
The "Hakuna Matata" dessert features caramelized orange, chocolate choux, and "playful foliage" (pictured below.)
Dinner concludes with tea and a selection of sweet friandeses.
The meal is price at $65 per person plus tax and gratuity. Optional wine pairings are available for an additional cost. Dining reservations for Jiko are recommended, however the Lion King meal does not need to be specifically reserved in advance; guests may choose the prix fixe offering upon arrival at the restaurant.
