Earlier this month at DVC's Condo Association meetings it was announced that DVC members would begin receiving free high-speed Internet service in 2008. It appears DVC has turned the switch on that new perk a few days early. Multiple reports indicate that members using their points at DVC resorts are already receving their Internet service for free...but even more have begun to report that they are still being charged for the service.
Three days ago when we first posted this report it appeared as if Disney had flipped the proverbial switch and that the free Internet perk was in place. Sadly, the reports of people NOT getting the free service now outnumber those who claim they did. Perhaps the early reporters stumbled into a test phase.
Multiple calls to DVC Member Services have yieleded a variety of different answers. Some say it should be free now. Others claim it won't happen until later this year. Still others don't see to know anything about Jim Lewis' announcement nearly a month ago.
