Disney Vacation Club members and annual passholders can soon begin booking the inaugural Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon at Disneyland Resort.
Beginning at noon eastern (9am pacific), Disney Vacation Club members have access to an early registration window for the latest runDisney event. The Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend is scheduled for November 14-16, 2014 at Disneyland Resort. Events include the half marathon, 5K and kids races.
Pricing starts at $195 for the half marathon. Disney Vacation Club members are eligible for a $10 discount on "select" Tier 1 runDisney event registrations. Frequent runners should note a recent runDisney policy change regarding pickup of race materials. All participants are now required to claim their own participant packets in-person during scheduled hours. In the past, Disney had allowed individuals to claim materials on behalf of another runner. This often helped alleviate travel-related issues which kept runners from arriving in time to claim their own materials.
Race-day pickup is also not available, meaning that all runners must arrive at least a day before the race to personally attend a scheduled expo and claim their packet.
This is the first offering of a Marvel-themed runDisney event, thus a fast sell-out is anticipated. Registration opens to the general public on March 25.
