In February 2014, Disney Vacation Development sold 157,125 Disney Vacation Club points, a drop of 22.3% compared to January 2014 when 202,117 points were sold. Given that DVC sales jumped over 70% in January 2014, a decline in sales for February was not unexpected.
Following slow sales in December, Disney Vacation Club point sales rebounded in January 2014, with 202,117 points sold, an increase of 70.4% over the previous month. Sales for the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa accounted for much of this improvement. Sales for this resort increased from 68,540 points in December '13 to 122,318 points in January '14.
Disney Vacation Club has updated its incentive program for new point purchases or add-ons. Buyers can choose between a healthy price reduction or a set of one-time-use Developer's Points. Unfortunately, new owners are also subject to a higher base price.
Just as at the end of 2012, December 2013 was a very slow month for direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points. Only 118,639 points were sold for the month, the second lowest monthly point total since sales began being tracked on a monthly basis in July 2010. The lowest monthly point total was in December 2012, when Disney Vacation Development sold only 115.281 points.
