Jiko means "The Cooking Place."  Taste creative American cooking that is a unique blend of multi-cultural influences — from the Mediterranean coast, India and Europe. Savor seafood, steak, chicken and vegetarian offerings infused with the vibrant flavors and fragrant spices of Africa.

The Mara - Jambo (Quick Service dining; 7am to 11:30pm)

The Mara offers a variety of quick service items which may be consumed either in its dining area or taken to go.  Multiple stations are offered featuring fresh baked cookies and pastries, prepared sandwiches and salads, as well as warm entrees made to order.

A selection of grocery items is also available featuring staples such as milk, soda, alcohol, cereal and frozen foods.

Sanaa - Kidani (Table Service dining; Lunch and Dinner, Grab-and-go breakfast)

Indulge your senses! Sanaa, meaning "work of art," defines the atmosphere and the cuisine at this restaurant — with beautifully prepared food and an atmosphere simmering with style. Wait for your table in the comfortable 24-seat lounge that is adjacent to the spacious dining room.

Recreation

Uzima Pool - Jambo (Hours: 10am to 10pm; open only when lifeguards on duty)

At over 11,000 sq ft, the Uzima Pool is one of the largest on Walt Disney World Jambo House Poolproperty. The pool features a 67 ft long slide, zero entry area and a wading pool for infants and toddlers.  Nearby Uzima Springs Pool Bar serves cold beveraes, while The Mara is only steps away for those seeking a quick snack.  Also in the neighborhood are two whirlpool spas, the Hakuna Matata Playground and the resort's fitness center.

Towels are provided.  Lounge chairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Life jackets may be borrowed (free.)

An additional pool complex, Samawati Springs, is planned for the Kidani Village resort area.  This complex will include a 4,700 sq ft pool with slide, 2 whirlpool spas, a 4,200 sq ft water play area called Uwanja Camp and the Maji Pool Bar.

Samawati Springs Pool / Uwanja Camp - Kidani

Cool off in this zero-entry pool that features a 128-ft. long water slide. Take relaxation to a Samawati Springswhole new level in one of the two whirlpool spas near the main pool, or refresh at Maji Pool Bar.

Climb elevated-rope bridges, dash through geyser jets, or relax in the waterfall lagoon or beneath the shade of the camp cabanas in this village playground themed as an animal observation site known as Uwanja Camp — uwanja means "play area." Explore three distinct zones in this children's interactive water-play area — the base camp, the departure zone and the observation station; each area has its own character and activities for age-specific groups.

Savanna

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas has three different savannas (Sunset, Arusha, and Uzima) that can be viewed not only from Savannah View villas, but also from a variety of Savannapublic overlooks and hallway windows. Each savanna has its own unique residents (kudu, ostrich, zebra) as well as a selection of species which roam from freely between the savannas  (angoli cattle, bongo, giraffe.)

The Arusha Savannah is the largest of the three. Arusha also has the most public viewing areas including Arusha Rock, the largest and most popular public animal observation spot. The public viewing areas have signs which describe the different species contained within each savanna.  Disney employs a number of native African Cast Members at the Animal Kingdom Lodge who are more than happy to talk to guests about their experiences in Africa.

 

Wanyama Safari

AKV Savanna

Available to all Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas guests, this three-hour safari-dinner adventure is a recreation of a true African afternoon game drive. Spend time with members from the Animal Programs team to learn about the natural history and management of the animal collection. Enjoy incredible photo opportunities of the animals and the architecture of the Resort. Conclude the experience with a multi-course meal at Jiko — The Cooking Place. Subject to availability. Guests must be 8 years of age or older.  Call 407-938-4755 for details or reservations.

Recipient of the AAA Five Diamond award since 2000, this signature Disney restaurant presents sophisticated American cuisine in a luxurious Victorian Victoria & Albert'satmosphere.  

Victoria & Albert's presents a wide variety of dining experiences including the prestigous Chef's Table, food-and-wine pairings, a 7-course tasting menu and a 10-course Degustation Menu. Several of these experiences offer limited capacity.  Advance Dining Reservations are encouraged.

Causal beach theming belies the innovative seafood and steak selections at this signature dining location.  The restaurant location offers a view of nightly fireworks at the Magic Kingdom and the Electric Water Pageant.

Tiled floors, wrought-iron railings and old world decor highlight this signature dining establishment.  American and Mediterranean cuisine are featured, along with an award-winning international wine list.  The "Chef's Domain" provides a custom menu and wine pairings for 12 diners on a nightly basis.

Buffet dining for breakfast and dinner along with a selection of Disney characters to greet.  At breakfast, the typical selection includes characters from "Mary Poppins" and "Winnie the Pooh."  Dinner brings characters from "Cinderella" typically including the princess herself, Prince Charming and the evil step sisters.

The Beach Pool (Hours: 10am TO 10pm, subject to seasonal adjustments)

Over 100,000 gallons of water fill the luxurious swimming hole overlooking the Seven Seas Lagoon.  Features include a 181-foot waterslide, waterfalls and a zero VGF Pool Generalentry area.  

A nearby children's play area is themed to the film "Alice in Wonderland"

Courtyard Pool

This zero entry leisure pool located behind the main building offers a more serene swimming environment.  The pool reaches a depth of nearly 5 feet.  An adjacent whirlpool spa is also available.

Description of Cost Components

Administration and Front Desk - Cost of front desk operations and resort management, including operating supplies and equipment rental. Also includes costs for operational and administrative support from the WALT DISNEY WORLD@ Resort ("WDW).

Animal Programs - Cost of the care of the animal collection on the Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge savanna including food, medical and husbandry. Also includes the cost of the savanna guides who share cultural and conservation information.

Annual Audit - Fee for the independent audit of the Association's financial statements as required by Florida law.

DVC Reservation Component - Fee paid to Buena Vista Trading Company for providing the exchange component of the Club central reservation system.

Fees to the Division - Annual fee of $2, per Vacation Home, per week, assessed by the State of Florida for regulation of the timeshare industry in Florida.

Housekeeping - Cost of cleaning and certain amenities placed in each Vacation Home. Also includes the purchase, replacement and cleaning of linens and towels.

Income Taxes - Federal income taxes. Timeshare condominium associations may not claim non-profit status for federal income tax purposes under current regulations.

Insurance - Cost of insurance premiums for property coverage, general liability, workers' compensation, crime and Director's and Officer's liability.

Legal - Cost of legal counsel regarding Association business.

Maintenance - Cost of interior and exterior maintenance and repairs not paid for out of replacement reserves. Also includes landscaping, pest control and fire alarm monitoring.

Management Fee - Fee paid to DVCMC for providing management services (including home office expenses) to the Association according to the Property Management Agreement. The fee is equal to 12 percent of the total Operating Budget (total operating expenses less the sum of interest income, Member late fees and interest, and breakage income) and Capital Reselve Budget exclusive of real estate taxes, transportation fees and the management fee.

Member Activities - Cost of the quarterly Member newsletter, annual Association meetings and printing and postage for Association legal mailings. Also includes the cost of certain Member recreational activities and events at the Resort.

Sales tax on Support Facilities - State sales tax paid on Condominium;s share of costs incurred in connection with the operation or maintenance of the Support Facilities in accordance with the Master Declaration of Covenanats Conditions and Restrictions encumbering the Condominium Property.

Security - Cost of guard coverage at the Resort.

Transportation - Cost of WDW transportation provided to the Resort.

Utilities - Cost of electricity, gas, water, sewer, solid waste disposal, cable television and telephone service at the Resort.

 

Description of Revenue Components

lnterest Income - Taxes and Operatinq lnterest earned on (i) ad valorem tax deposits held in escrow and (ii) operating budget deposits invested until expended for operating expenses.

Member Late Fees and lnterest - All delinquent Annual Dues payments are subject to a late fee of $25 per Ownership Interest, plus interest at the maximum rate permitted by law (currently 18 percent) accrued on the amount outstanding from the original due date.

Breakage Income - As stated in the Condominium Documents, Disney Vacation Club Management Corp. ("DVCMC) rents, during the Breakage Period, certain accommodations that have not been reserved by Members. The Association is entitled to receive, as breakage income, the proceeds of such rentals not to exceed 2.5 percent of the aggregate of the Condominium Operating Budget (total operating expenses less the sum of interest income and Member late fees and interest) and Capital Reserve Budget in each calendar year.

Developer Subsidy - In an effort to afford all existing Owners and current Purchasers with a fair and equitable dues assessment, Disney Vacation Development, Inc. ("DVD"), has agreed to subsidize the estimated Annual Operating Budget. DVD does not make any commitment that it will add additional phases to the Condominium or that it will elect to subsidize the Annual Operating Budget in future budget years. The obligation of DVD to provide this subsidy is a matter of private contract among DVD, current Purchasers and the Association (as to existing Owners). DVD reserves the right to discontinue offering this subsidized operating assessment in the future.

 

The Member Operating Assessment is equal to the total Cost Components LESS the Revenue Components.

The Total Dues Assessment is equal to the Member Operating Assessment plus Capital Reserves contributions (for funding of long-term projects such as roof replacement, exterior painting, room refurbishment, etc.) and Ad Valorem Taxes (property taxes assessed by the county.)
