DVC Direct Sales - December 2015

In December, Disney Vacation Development sold eight deeds with fewer than the 25-point minimum that has been in effect since the start of DVC. DVD sold two deeds at the Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge for 8 and 17 points to one family, and six for Disney's BoardWalk Villas for 10, 10, 10, 14, 15, and 16 points to another family. Each deed was from a different Residential Unit. Although this is not the first time DVD has sold a DVC deed with less 25 points, It has been an extremely rare occurrence. In the last five years, there have been only two or three deeds recorded with less than 25 points.

Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows — With 76,445 points sold in December 2015, the Polynesian has now sold 858,535 points, which is 21.3% of its 4,032,720 total points. Not including sales for January 2015, which was only a partial month since sales began on January 12, 2015, the Polynesian is averaging 76,867 points in monthly sales.

DVD reacquired its first Polynesian deed in December. A 150-point deed that was sold in October was bought back by DVD for $165 a point, the same price for which it was sold.

In December 2015, two Guaranteed Week deeds were sold for the Polynesian, bringing to 82 the number of Guaranteed Week deeds sold for the resort. DVD is permitted to sell as much as 35% of each accommodation type for each week, which would allow it to sell as many as 7 bungalows, 25 Lake View studios, and 100 Standard View studios for each week. So far, the Guaranteed Week sales are no where close to these weekly maximums. DVD has only sold a total of 12 Guaranteed Week deeds for the bungalows, 44 deeds for the Lake View studios, and 26 deeds for the Standard View studios.

Disney Vacation Development has declared 10 bungalows and 142 studios for the DVC inventory, which accounts for 40.71% of the Polynesian’s total points. There are still 218 studios and 10 more bungalows that have not yet been declared and are controlled by DVD.

The sales data includes all nine DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, as well as Disney's Vero Beach Resort, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas. Point sales data is not available for the Villas at Disney's Grand California Hotel. The data is compiled from deeds filed by Disney Vacation Development and recorded with the Orange County (FL) Comptroller, the Indian River County (FL) Clerk of Court, the Beaufort County (SC) Register of Deeds, and the Hawaii Bureau of Conveyances.
