Thanks for that breakdown. Maybe I'm out of the loop for how this works, but it seems odd that they didn't add more studios, unless that's part of a 3-bedroom lock-off.

There aren't any 3 bedroom lockoffs, the grand villas are dedicated 3BRs.

I am not sure we really know if certain types of rooms are declared that DVC limits the bookings to the number of points represented to the declarations. So it is possible that all that matters is that 41% of the points have to be available for DVC point bookings. And if the rooms are not already booked they can be any type of room.

Due to the Reciprocal Use clause that is in the Master Declaration of each DVC condo association, DVC Membership and Disney can exchange accommodations between their respective inventories. DVC Members can have access to accommodations that have not yet been declared in exchange for giving Disney access to accommodations that have been declared.

The key number in declarations is the percentage of the resort's total points that have been declared. In Copper Creek's case, Disney has declared 43.2% of the resort's total points. What this means is that for any given Use Day DVC Members can book up to 43.2% of the resort using points irrespective of the accommodation type. If, on any given Use Day, DVC Members only book 5 of the 12 cabins that have been declared, Disney could take over the 7 unbooked cabins. In exchange, Disney would give to the DVC inventory a number of accommodations, including studios, that is equivalent in terms of points as the 7 cabins.

It's fascinating learning about the inner workings of hotels since I've joined DVC. Things I never thought that I would ever know about.
