Villas at Disney's Grand Califorian Hotel & Spa

(Reopening December 6, 2020)

Policy applies to points used for arrivals scheduled between March 12 - December 5, 2020, which were cancelled after February 29, 2020.

  • As of this writing, Disney Vacation Club has not announced any additional extension for 2018 points--banked into 2019--which subsequently expired in mid-2020. Grand Californian will not reopen before the November 30 extension date applied to most other resorts. Barring some future announcement extending these points, they may be forfeit.
  • Under the blanket policy, points from April, June, August, September and October 2019 Use Years will be extended for one year past the current expiration.

For all Home resorts and Use Years, Disney Vacation Club has imposed a temporary restriction which limits future borrowing to 50% of the points in each contract. No ending date for this policy has been revealed.

In recent months, Disney Vacation Club has allowed cancellations inside of 30 days without applying the Holding Account restriction, banking of points beyond the first 8 months of the Use Year and reversal of borrowing transactions. However, none of these policy exceptions are documented and they are subject to change at any time. Members with at-risk points are encouraged to contact DVC Member Services to discuss options currently being offered.
