Studio Costs Rise in 2020

DVC Policies & Procedures

The Disney Vacation Club points charts for 2020 have been released. Members planning stays in Deluxe Studio villas at Walt Disney World should brace themselves to spend more points per night.

Disney's BoardWalk Villas

Deluxe Studio rooms located at Walt Disney World will cost more points for nearly every resort, view and season beginning in 2020. The newly released point charts show nightly increases virtually across the board for Studio villas.

This change is facilitated by lowering the nightly cost for other room types. Costs to reserve One and Two Bedroom villas are either up or down, depending upon resort and season. Point costs for bungalows at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows have been reduced approximately 9% while the Cascade Cabins at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge are down slightly.

The chart below illustrates the changes in costs for weekday Deluxe Studio stays at all Walt Disney World DVC resorts. Of the 90 scenarios presented, 12 show no change in costs from 2019 to 2020 including all seasons in a Value room at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas. The cost of a Standard Studio at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows during Magic Season declined by 1 point per night. But in the 77 other scenarios displayed, costs rose by 1-3 points per night.

The new point values apply to stays on-or-after the night of January 1, 2020. Members will have access to begin booking these nights in late January 2019, 11 months prior to arrival for stays at members' Home resorts.

As the timeshare manager, Disney Vacation Club reserves the right to adjust the point values on a regular basis so that they accurately reflect member demand. Increases to the cost of one villa type or season must be offset by reductions elsewhere at the same resort.  Popularity of Studio rooms has seemingly outpaced other villa types in recent years, likely due to higher point acquisition costs and modifications to several resorts allowing Studio rooms to sleep up to 5 guests.

Aside from normal adjustments for the timing of Easter and Thanksgiving, no modifications were made to any of the five seasons.

A cursory examination indicates there were little-to-no changes to the points charts for the four resorts outside of Walt Disney World including Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, Disney's Vero Beach Resort and Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel
