WDW hotels added to the Disney Collection

DVC Policies & Procedures

Disney Vacation Club has added six hotel properties at Walt Disney World to the Disney Collection including Disney's Art of Animaltion Resort.

Typically the addition of Disney Vacation Club villa accommodations at a Walt Disney World resort means hotel rooms are no longer available for reservations using points.  DVC now reversed that trend in a big way.

All Deluxe hotel properties at Walt Disney World are now available for booking with DVC points, in addition to Disney's Art of Animation Resort.  The Deluxe destinations available via this new offering are Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Inn and Disney's Contemporary Resort.

Multiple room categories (views) are available at each property from the lowest priced Garden or Standard Views up to Club Level rooms.  Note that the $95 reservation fee applies to these Disney Collection destinations and resale points purchased after March 21, 2011 are not eligible for these destinations.

In 2012 Disney Vacation Club made hotel rooms at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel available for points reservations due to the low number of villas available at that resort.  Disney's Grand Floridian Resort has also remained available despite the villa opening in mid-2013.

Updated points charts are available at the following link:  2014 Walt Disney World Disney Collection.

Despite their availability, these destinations may not represent the greatest value in DVC points usage.  For example a Value Season Garden View room at Disney's Beach Club is priced at 41 points per weekday and 47 points per weekend, plus the $95 reservation fee.  A similar Deluxe Studio  at Disney's Beach Club Villas is 15 points per weekday and 16 points per weekend during a comparable season.
