In November 2018, direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points were down 15% compared to both the 2018 monthly sales average and the same period in 2017.
For the month, Disney sold 156,800 points for the 10 DVC resort located at Walt Disney World, which is well off the 186,401 points that sales had been averaging in 2018. For the year, Disney has sold 2,020,813 points for its Walt Disney World resorts, a drop of 3.4% compared to the same period in 2017.
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge — Sales for Copper Creek were also lower than average in November 2018. The newest DVC resort recorded 127,500 points in sales, well below the 138,959 points it had been averaging in 2018.
Even though sales have slowed a bit in the last two months, Copper Creek is still on pace to be “sold out” within the next nine or ten months. Disney has sold 61.1% of the resort’s 3,321,966 total points and has about 1,225,968 points that it can sell to the general public.
Effective November 15, 2018, Disney declared 19 more vacation homes for the DVC inventory at Copper Creek. DVC members now have access to 142 of the resort’s 184 vacation homes for them to book using points. In terms of points, 80.6% of Copper Creek is now declared for the DVC. If sales continue at the current rate, another declaration will have to be made by early January 2019.
The sales data includes all 10 DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, as well as Disney's Vero Beach Resort, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas. Point sales data is not available for the Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. The data is compiled from deeds filed by Disney Vacation Development and recorded with the Orange County (FL) Comptroller, the Indian River County (FL) Clerk of Court, and the Beaufort County (SC) Register of Deeds.
