Disney amends Polynesian’s timeshare license

On April 1, 2015, Disney Vacation Development amended its timeshare license for Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.

Initially, its timeshare license authorized DVD to sell up to 8,262 timeshare weeks, which accounted for 162 vacation homes. With this latest amendment to its license, DVD is now authorized to sell an additional 11,118 timeshare weeks, which accounts for another 218 vacation homes. This means that DVD is now licensed by the State of Florida to sell all 360 studios and 20 bungalows that comprise the Polynesian condominium association.

The timeshare licensing process is not to be confused with the declaration process DVD uses for all Disney Vacation Club resorts. So far, DVD has declared only 40.7% of the Polynesian Villas for the DVC inventory, meaning that only that 40.7% can booked by DVC members using points on any given Use Day. As DVD sells more of the Polynesian's points to the general public, it will declare more of the resort for the DVC inventory.
