Later this month Disney Vacation Club will present an online webcast detailing its newest property: Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.
Designer Carter Oosterhouse hosts a look at the newly-renovated resort recently-opened Disney Vacation Club components. According to a brief preview, Oosterhouse will be joined by a Disney Imagineer and a DVC member family to explore the property. The webcast will feature a look inside a Deluxe Studio villa as well as one of the watertop bungalows.
The webcast is open to both current DVC members and prospective members. One member viewing the webcast will win a free 5-night stay in a bungalow valued at over $22,000. One non-member selected randomly will receive a complimentary 3-year DVC membership with a value over $17,000.
The webcast is avaialble to view from April 25 - May 3, 2015. Registration links can be found below:
In the past, Disney Vacation Club has used similar webcasts as opportunities to offer limited-time discount pricing. However, the promotional site and video for this webcast makes no mention of such offers. Given DVC's recent lack of discounts for purchases at the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and the Polynesian Villas, it is doubtful that any special offers will be presented to viewers.
Thanks to Dan for the tip!
I was hoping to see views of the remodeled Volcano Pool and Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. But the webcast must have been filmed several weeks ago before those projects were completed; there are only artists' drawings of what they will look like.
At the end of the webcast we had a chance to enter a sweepstakes to win a five-night stay in one of the bungalows. No mention of any other prizes, so we'll either win big or go home empty.
Not surprisingly, the webcast did not announce any special offers for the Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. It made no mention of PVB's current price, nor did it mention anything about a future price hike.
The only special offer mentioned during the webcast was for Aulani:
When you add on at least 100 Vacation Points at Aulani by May 17, 2015, you will get an equal number of one-time-use Vacation Points that can be used for an EXTRA STAY at Aulani.*
*Offer requires the purchase of a real estate interest at Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawai‘i equal to 100 or more vacation points and the payment of $15 times the number of vacation points purchased in addition to a minimum 10% down payment (depending on qualified financing). Offer expires May 17, 2015. Offer is for accommodations only, which are obtained through the use of a one-time allotment of Developer Vacation Points (“Points”) equal to the amount purchased. Each night of accommodations is assigned a point value and length of stay will depend on number of vacation points purchased, as well as type of accommodations and night(s) of week and time of year reserved. Points can be used to reserve accommodations at Aulani, up to eleven (11) months prior to check-in date. You are not acquiring any right, title, or interest in or to the Developer’s ownership interest represented by the Points. Points cannot be banked, borrowed, or transferred, and may not be used for a waitlist. Points may only be used to book one reservation per Membership and any remaining Points will be forfeited. Reservations using Points must be booked by August 15, 2016, and stay must be completed by September 30, 2016. Purchasers are responsible for paying the nightly state-imposed Transient Accommodations Tax, which is determined by the number of vacation points required for stay. All accommodations are subject to availability. Guaranteed weeks at Aulani are not eligible for this offer. Offer cannot be combined with select Disney Vacation Club offers or discounts and may be modified or withdrawn at any time without notice. Offer is limited to one per Membership. Additional restrictions may apply.
It seemed like about half of the webcast was devoted to showing interesting background clips of DVC resorts, DCL, and other vacation spots available through exchanges via ABD, Disney Collection, RCI, etc., while the narrator talked about the advantages of adding on and increasing the number of points we own. Actually, as timeshare presentations go, it was a very low-keyed, laid back presentation.
Denlo and I will be at WDW from May 12-22. We are staying at BLT but will definitely spend some time at the Poly checking out the new resort. We won't be actually staying at PVB until mid-November, so we'd love to see any photos you take of your villa and the views.
That sounds great. I'll PM you how to reach us. Just let us know what date(s) are good for you. Our schedule is pretty flexible.
