New Character Meal Planned for BoardWalk

Guests staying in the BoardWalk area of Walt Disney World will soon have easy access to a brand new character meal.  No theme park admission is required.

Trattoria al Forno

Trattoria al Forno on Disney's BoardWalk will soon be home to a new character breakfast.  According to the Disney Parks Blog, the new experience will debut in spring 2017 and feature famous couples from Disney films.  No character names were revealed, however the Parks Blog story specifically references the films "Tangled" and "The Little Mermaid."

Pricing, menu and opening date are not yet available.

Trattoria al Forno opened in December 2014, offering authentic Italian cuisine during breakfast and dinner hours.

Other character experiences in the Epcot resorts area include breakfast at Cape May Cafe located in Disney's Beach Club Resort and a weekend meal at Garden Grove restaurant in the Swan resort.  Epcot is currently home to two character meals featuring classic Disney characters at Garden Grill restaruant and Disney Princesses in Norway's Restaurant Akerhaus.

Interesting, but I'll still pass.

We ate at Trat last summer and we all left unimpressed. For the prices we were underwhelmed with the food and the ambiance.

Did you eat there for breakfast or dinner? We often stay at the BCV, and thought of going there to eat. This might be an option for our DGDs. They love Tangled. But we'll wait until we see the prices.

Quickest way to fix an under performing restaurant without improving the food: Add a character meal.

Got that right.

Sadly, all their restaurants "perform" if the metric is butts in seats. If the metric is repeat customers, or 5+ member familes, then adding a character or two should work for another 18-24 months.
