Changes to bedding configuration at Beach Club Villas

Owners and guests at Disney's Beach Club Villas are likely to be pleased with a change to the sleeping configuration implemented during the current refurbishment.

Beach Club Villas Entry

The new issue of DisneyFiles Magazine confirms a surprising change at the Beach Club Villas:  dedicated Two Bedroom Villas are being equipped with two queen beds in the second bedroom.

In a sidebar labeled "Pardon Our Pixie Dust", the magazine has this to say about the Beach Club refurbisment project:

The first wave of accommodations underwent refurbishment in January, receiving refreshed decor and fabrics, updated bathrooms, larger televisions, a second queen bed in the second bedroom of two-bedroom villas (replacing that bedroom's sleeper sofa, based upon Member feedback) and more.  The addition of a new fifth sleeper in Deluxe Studios also is part of this project, slated to continue through the summer.

The modification is limited to dedicated Two Bedroom Villas.  Lockoff Two Bedroom Villas can be separated into Deluxe Studio and One Bedroom accommodations and rented to separate parties.  The studio portion of a lockoff will retain the queen bed plus sofabed configuration.

This modification bring Disney's Beach Club Villas into line with all other Disney Vacation Club resorts by offering the dual queen bed setup in dedicated rooms.  Previously only a small number of Two Bedroom villas at the Beach Club had the two queen beds, while remaining dedicated rooms had the queen plus sofabed setup.

See our prior coverage for other details on the continuing Beach Club renovation project.

I like that DVc has decided to make all of the dedicated two bedrooms at BCV to be the same configuration. However, I was always told that some of the rooms were too small to accommodate two queen beds. What changed?

I also had heard that story since we purchased in 2002. They needed to put a sofa bed in the second room due to the space required in the fire code. It seemed to affect only the second bedroom that had balcony door attached. I wonder what changed? Not the size of the room or the balcony door!

I am happy that they are making that change! :)

I just want the additional foldout chair in the den. We're a family of 6 with older kids that don't share beds. I like the villas that have the extra chair. Everyone gets a bed!

I read this in Disney Files this morning too. And my first thought: DVC News probably already knew this and I missed it somehow in their email blasts. :)

I, too am happy for this change bc I need those 2 queen beds every time we go. That extra sleeper in the living room will be great as well. My kids are old enough now that we are using both sleeper beds from the couches and the single sleeper chair. We did so both at Vero and BLT just a week ago. I was impressed with the beds in both types. My kids slept well in both. Really glad they listen to member feedback on things like this. Now, if only they would return the vanilla ice-cream dole whip blend to their dole whip choices at the parks and Poly. The dole whip alone is just not cutting it.

OMG-tdid DVC just fabricate this information for its members years ago? People have suspected, but now I REALLY wonder. And as far as 5 in a studio, I just wonder who would really want to do that. It's not wrong but we bought DVC so we could spread out and have a washer/dryer. I suppose I should just accept that different people think differently.
