Disney Research Zurich visited Walt Disney World to demonstrate its latest innovation: an "entertainment robot" designed to create beach artwork.

The Beachbot is a small turtle-shaped machine which uses a rake mechanism to carve artwork into the sand. A group of Swiss undergraduate students worked with Disney engineers to create the revolutionary device.
The results of their labor were demonstrated at Disney's Contemporary Resort by carving an image of Walt Disney in the sand. Check out the YouTube videos above for an overview of the Beachbot project and a timelapse video of the Walt Disney artwork.
