Aulani "founding Members" have begun receiving a commemorative keepsake, recognizing their status as early owners in the Hawaiian timeshare facility.
As with other recent Disney Vacation Club resorts, early buyers at Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas were designated "Founding Members." This group of owners is recognized with a personalized walkway tile located at the resort.
Additionally, founding Members received a similar keepsake to display in their own homes. Below is a photo of one member's plaque (family name has been removed), followed by the text which accompanied the plaque.
Your Own Piece of Paradise
Thank you for becoming a founding Member at Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawai'i. We can't wait for you to take in all the island sights, including your commemorative Pohaku tile that you'll find on the beach walk alongside Aulani's beautiful lagoon.
To celebrate this special event, we're thrilled to present you with your very own replicat of this tile. We've also included a print entitled "Sunrise" by artist Sarai Stricklin as a reminder of your new vacation retreat. This print is a copy of an original piece from the art collection at Aulani.

Makes me feel bad since we bought and then withdrew within the 10 day window.
Only to buy again in October ...
The way I read this is they had the lower fees but when DVD allowed to withdraw the purchase during the 10 day period they turned it in. Only to buy again at the higher maintenance fees. Did I get that correct?
