Animal Kingdom Villas News
On July 23, 2012, just two weeks after declaring 12 two-bedroom villas for the Disney Vacation Club inventory, Disney Vacation Development has declared another batch of villas at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas. This latest declaration adds five two-bedroom villas and five Grand Villas, representing 262,100 vacation club points, to the DVC inventory.
With this latest declaration, the percentage of Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas declared for the DVC inventory increases from 85.09% to 88.63%. This means that on any given Use Day DVC Members can book up to 88.63% of Animal Kingdom Villas using points. Since April 2012, DVD has increased the DVC inventory at Animal Kingdom Villas by 13.67%, or 1,011,440 points.
There are 45 two-bedroom villas and three Grand Villas at Animal Kingdom Villas which are not yet declared for the DVC inventory. These undeclared vacation homes account for 841,440 points. DVD uses this undeclared inventory for cash reservations and for other marketing purposes.
Given the recent upsurge in sales for Animal Kingdom Villas -- DVD has averaged over 174,000 points in monthly sales over the last three months -- these declarations are necessary to support sales. DVD must declare points for the DVC inventory before it can sell those points to the general public. If sales continue at the current rate, DVD will need to make additional declarations within the next few months.
But even if DVD makes a single large declaration, it still owns the points until they are sold to the general public. DVD can use those declared-but-unsold points for cash reservations.
I haven't heard any word on when sales will begin for the new Villas at Grand Floridian. We are at WDW right now, and I've talked to a few of the Cast Members manning the DVC kiosks in the Parks. They all say basically the same thing: Opening in late 2013; 147 vacation homes. The CMs don't know, or at least won't say, when sales will begin. They don't even know if VGF will have Grand Villas. Right now, the specifics about VGF are "Disney's Best Kept Secret."
Feels like a big difference from BLT...
I'm very curious about studio count & if there will be multiple view categories. Personally those are much more relevant than GVs. Of course the point chart is also a big deal. The waiting is the worst, but honestly VGC was harder since I did add-on there right at the start & currently have no reality linked plans for a VGF add-on... And with that kn mind the final question: Will I ever get a studio at 7 months?
