Just as BLT is heavily skewed toward the February Use Year, AKV is heavily skewed toward the December Use Year. Of the 6.1 million AKV points that have been declared so far for the DVC membership, 35.42% have placed assigned to the December UY. The prevalence of the December UY has actually increased during the most recent sales push at AKV, as 10 of the 14 Units that DVD has started using to support sales in May and June 2012 have assigned the December UY.
It will be interesting to see how sales respond to this latest incentive. So far, sales recorded in June for AKV are about 20% less than for the previous month. However, May's AKV sales total was very high, and June is on pace to record the second highest AKV sales total for the year.

It looks like DVD is expecting a good number of sales on AKV this summer. I would imagine they would like to sell as much of AKV as possible before the Villas at the Grand Floridian open because then the sales at AKV would really decline do the popularity of VGF. Isn't that what happened with BLT and AKV/SSR? But then SSR was offered a a lower cost alternative for a potential customers that thought BLT was too expensive. Perhaps sales of VGF will start this fall (a year before opening???) and DVD is making sure there are enough points at AKV for the reason I mentioned above.

I believe you have the right idea denlo. I would suspect they would like to get as much of the AKV inventory sold before the GFV start to sell. My guess is Nov or Dec of this year current members will get the initial offering.

But people would likely buy akv over vgf cause of the price diffrence imo . With vgf estimating cost to be close to $200 point

Don't get why the sales are so strong with the pt price increases - the incentives just don't seem to much of an incentive to me
