Thanks for spreading the word. I'm happy I bought my premium vouchers last week with the DVC discount.
Have they announced whether there will be a DVC discount on the new pricing?

Wow!!!! Kids pass same as adults. I expected a big increase after hearing the DIS podcast on DL increases. Don't like it, but expected it.

I didn't realize that the children's AP rates were slowly moving up to the adult prices. It sort of looks like that is the plan (eventually) for the price of regular park tickets as well since they aren't that much different in cost per day. I don't get it, it's ridiculous that a child from age 3 through 9 are the same price as an adult. Is Disney trying to freeze out families from WDW? DVC members will probably just spend more time at the resort to offset the expense. But I'm not sure cash guests think that way.
Just wondering are other theme parks priced like that? I.e. there is very little price difference or none between an adult ticket and a child's?

Just checked pricing for Universal Orlando. A 1 day-1 park ticket has a $6 price difference between adults and children. Their Preferred Pass (no blackout dates) has the same pricing for Adults and Children.

I'm not sure how to phrase this without it making it look like I'm arguing, I really am not trying to. Debate maybe, but not argue. Anyhow, logically, why SHOULD a child pay less? Kids eat less and there are lower cost child meals. And they don't drink booze. Both of these mean less money for Disney. A lot of free activities like the character greetings and the kids stations are there primarily for them. (Yeah, I know, the excitement and happiness the kid exudes makes it all worthwhile to us adults but the activity is still about them.) Even a lot of the rides are really kid's rides. And they do demand a lot of attention doing things kids do, like crying, chasing birds and falling, throwing things out of strollers... and the strollers take up space too.
So, I know it's customary to give discounted prices for children and not doing so may make the difference between families attending or not. But it's not like kids cost Disney any less. So in one sense, why should there be a discount?
