DTD Marketplace dock to close

WDW Transportation News

As part of ongoing construction efforts in the Downtown Disney area, the Marketplace boat dock will soon close for an extended period.

The  dock is scheduled to close on Friday, February 22, 2014, and will remain closed through most of the year.

The closure is required in order to continue construction on a watertop causeway bridge connecting the two ends of the Marketplace shopping district.   The bridge will run from an area near the Rainforest Cafe to the T-REX cafe area.

Boats from Disney's Old Key West Resort and Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort will continue to ferry guests to the West Side dock.  Boats from Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside will deposit guests at the Pleasure Island dock.

"Internal" water launches will also be available to transport guests between the West Side and Pleasure Island docks.
