mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesIn recent years, Disney has substantially increased the volume of VIP experiences offered to theme park guests and fans.  These events include things like fireworks dessert parties, DVC Member cruises, preferred seating at the D23 Expo and even a final ride on the Star Tours flight simulator.  Guests are  promised a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but only in return for paying a premium price.  


Topic:  What do you think of Disney's practice of using these unique offerings as a profit center?  Fair or foul?

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesOver the years the Disney resorts have implemented a number of environmentally-friendly features.  Included are motion sensitive fans and thermostats, low-flow bath fixtures and Energy Star light bulbs. While some applaud the effort due to the resultant energy savings, such room modifications are not very condusive to a pampered vacation experience. 


Topic:  Are "green" initiatives acceptable at a Disney resort or should they be more concerned with providing a high-quality guest exerience no matter the cost?

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesWalt Disney World and Disneyland have many wonderful locations for photographs throughout their parks and resorts.  Some individuals and families even follow a tradition of having their photo taken in the same location during every trip.

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesDisney is increasingly investing in themed guest rooms.  From the pirate rooms at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort to the Big Thunder Mountain suite at the Disneyland Hotel, theming rooms around characters and even park attractions is increasingly popular.  In fact, the next resort scheduled to open at Walt Disney World--Disney's Art of Animation Resort--will consist entirely of themed accommodations.

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesThe Disney Vacation Club program often seems to be dominated by rules.  There are rules which govern when and how reservations can be made, changed and cancelled.  There are rules for banking points, borrowing points, transferring points and so on.
