DVCNews Debates: Advising non-members

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesA friend / relative / coworker returns from a wonderful trip to Walt Disney World and is intrigued by the Disney Vacation Club concept.  He / she asks for your advice.

Topic:  What sort of advice would you give to a non-member who is considering a DVC purchase?

DVCNews Debates: Amenities

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesPerhaps due to Disney Vacation Club's status as a timeshare, there are some limits to amenities provided to members. DVC villas do not receive clean towels or coffee refills daily. Villas do not offer bathrobes or turndown service. Unlike many other hotel chains, Disney does not provide newspapers, continental breakfasts or wireless Internet service.

Topic:  What additional amenity or amenities would you like to see offered at DVC resorts?

DVCNews Debates: Why wait?

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesMost people seem to contemplate a Disney Vacation Club purchase for a fair amount of time before taking the plunge.  There are certainly negative aspects to joining DVC and buyers must become comfortable with both the pros and the cons before moving forward.  Some are unable to satisfy those concerns and opt to forego DVC membership.

Topic:  What were (or are) your greatest reservations about becoming a DVC member?

DVCNews Debates: Parks vs non-parks

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesEight of the ten existing Disney Vacation Club resorts are located adjacent to one of Disney's theme parks.  Developing land currently owned is certainly much cheaper and buyers have exhibited a clear preference for Disney resorts near the parks.

However, DVC's next resort is located in Hawaii with no theme park in sight.  Land purchased outside of Washington DC could someday be home to a Disney Vacation Club resort, and consideration has also been given to the likes of Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe.

Topic:  Generally speaking, would you rather see Disney continue to add resorts near its theme parks or in non-park destinations?

DVCNews Debates: Top of the World lounge

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesThe Bay Lake Tower's Top of the World lounge provides a unique alternative for those seeking to watch the nightly Magic Kingdom fireworks.  The lounge and nearby viewing deck are sufficient to hold hundreds of individuals but access rules limit nightly crowds to just a fraction of that number.  The lounge is currently available only to Bay Lake Tower guests who booked their trip through Disney Vacation Club (points or cash.)

Topic:  Should access to the Top of the World lounge be extended to other groups?  If so...who?
