I was going to start a thread discussing MNSSHP, but I will just use this as my platform. Is MNSSHP or even Mickey's X-Mas Party worth the cost? We have no kids and from what I've seen on other posts is that the Halloween Party is really geared towards children. The way I see it is that essentially I am paying north of $100 for the two of us to stay a few hours extra at MK with some free candy during Halloween and free hot cocoa & cookies during X-Mas. We have attended the Christmas Party twice and I felt the same way about that but the first time was when I proposed and the 2nd was the night after our wedding a year later. For a while I just don't see us attending either until we have children. I am on the fence if someone feels like convincing me that we NEED to attend MNSSHP if we are @ Disney while it is going on.

I hate to discourage anyone from trying something once. Honestly I wasn't terribly thrilled with either the Christmas Party or Pirate & Princess Party, but we're still taking the kids to the Halloween Party this year. MNSSHP seems to be the most universally praised so I'm holding out hope that this one will knock our proverbial socks off.
I think it's really hard to justify the cost to an Annual Passholder. If you're using a MYW pass it's a little different. Every admission day has a price tag attached to it. For the after-hours parties they let you in the MK as early as 4pm so you can save a day on your MYW ticket and just do a late night at the MK.
I really think Passholders deserve a more substantial discount.
Like I said, we'll be forking-over about $200 to take the kids to MNSSHP this year. But it may well be our last hard ticketed event. It's really tough to swallow the fact that we could go to Epcot or DHS that night at no extra cost. Basically we're paying $200 for a unique parade/fireworks show, small pieces of candy, different costumes on the characters, etc. Not a whole lot of value there, IMO.

I'm still holding out to see if a deeper discount is offered for AP or DVC--like last year.

A substantial discount for us either being AP holders or DVC members may push me over the edge to give it a try.
