Policies & Procedures News
Member Services representatives have begun communicating with members about changes to the waitlist process effective on June 1, 2007. The most noteworthy change is that DVC will no longer contact members via telephone giving them the opportunity to accept or decline the available room. All waitlist requests will be set-up to automatically confirm when (if) the requested accommodation becomes available.
Undeniably the big news of the week is Disney’s decision to eliminate smoking rooms from all Disney owned resorts at Walt Disney World, including the five current DVC properties. Effective June 1st, smoking will be prohibited in all DVC guest rooms, balconies and patios.
DVC has set December 4 as the date of the 2007 Condominium Association Meeting. The meeting will be held at an as-yet-undetermined time and location somewhere on Walt Disney World property. This is the first time in recent memory in which DVC has opted to hold a consolidated meeting covering all 8 of the DVC properties. In years past DVC has held separate meetings for each of the Vacation Club resorts over the course of several days.
As of the first of the year DVC began collecting additional demographic information on non-member guests staying in DVC accommodations. The January 10th Vacation Magic email update finally included a formal statement from DVC, but it did little to clarify the situation.
