Amendments filed for electronic meeting notification

DVC Policies & Procedures

Disney Vacation Club is hoping to eliminate more paper clutter from members' lives.

During the December 2012 Condominium Association Meeting, the Disney Vacation Club Board of Directors approved a measure to offer email notifications of future condo meetings.  Each Condominium Association bylaws must be amended to reflect this change, and the amendments recently appeared on the website of the Orange County Comptroller.

The meeting announcements are half-size booklets, approximately 12 pages long, which are delivered to members annually in November.  The boolets include details on the next scheduled Condo Association meeting, proposed amendments to the Condo bylaws and resort operating budgets for the upcoming year.

This amendment allows members to receive the meeting announcement in electronic form rather than paper.  The change will apply only to members who choose to opt into the electronic distribution.  Paper copies will remain available to owners who do not elect to receive the electronic notification.

The amended passage from the amended bylaws reads as follows:

"Any notice by e-mail shall only be valid if the Owner has first consented electronically to the use of e-mail for notice purposes demonstrating that the Owner has the ability to access the notice by e-mail. Any consent to receive notice by e-mail is effective until revoked by the Owner."

A copy of the amendment for Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort Condominium Assocation can be found HERE.  Similar amendments have been filed for other Disney Vacation Club properties.

At the December 2012 Condominium Association Meeting, Disney Vacation Club representatives stated that they hoped to have the opt-in feature available on DVCMember.com in time for the notices scheduled for release in November 2013.
