Other Surprises in Vacation Magic

DVC Policies & Procedures

The Fall 2007 issue of Vacation Magic has arrived and it has confirmed many of the rumors reported here over the past several weeks.  Additionally the magazine mentions other changes which had did not escape via the rumor mill.

Among the previously-reported items now confirmed in Vacation Magic are:

  • Banking privileges changed to 100% banking within first eight months of the Use Year
  • “Member Getaways” must be booked at least 120 days before the end of one’s Use Year
  • $95 booking fee for all non-DVC destinations including stays at the non-DVC resorts at Walt Disney World (Disneyland resort stays are exempt)
  • Creation of a new booking category at Old Key West which will guarantee guests a room near the Hospitality House

But Vacation Magic didn’t stop there.  A few other key points of interest can be found within the new magazine:

  • DVC members using points to stay in Concierge level accommodations at the Animal Kingdom Villas will receive daily housekeeping services
  • A number of limited-time member discounts are announced including ticket price reductions for the Halloween events at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, a $150 mail in rebate for activation of Disney Mobile cell phone service (2-year commitment required) and reduced prices on the twinkling Mickey ears available at World of Disney

On a personal note, this may be one of the finest issues of Vacation Magic yet, covering many upcoming changes at the Disney parks including changes to Epcot’s Spaceship Earth, the Food & Wine Festival, DAK’s new Yak & Yeti restaurant, the new Cinderella Castle location of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and much more.  Kudos to the VM authors and editors for making this an issue truly worthy of being read cover-to-cover.
