Multiple readers have contacted us with reports that Disney is having trouble applying the Disney Vacation Club member discounts to backstage tours.
Tours can be booked 90 days in advance through the 407-WDW-TOUR office. The price of the tour is charged to a credit card at the time the reservation is secured.
Most tours are discounted 15-20% for preferred groups including DVC members, Annual Passholders and Chase Disney Visa cardholders. However reports indicate that recent computer upgrades have left the Disney tour office unable to apply some discounts to the price of the tour. At least one indivdual was told to address the issue with Disney Cast Members upon arrival for the scheduled tour, and a refund equal to the discount amount would be processed at that time.
Current DVC discount information can be found on DVCMember.com. Extra caution is advised in determining whether discounts have been applied at the time of booking and/or what steps must be taken to later receive a refund equal to the discount amount due.
