The new partnership with RCI features week-long exchanges, nightly exchanges high-end fractional resorts and even all-inclusive options which include all meals, use of recreation equipment, gratuities, etc.  Here is an excerpt from the recently-released details:

Effective January 1, 2009, RCI will be the main provider for our World Passport Collection exchanges. Through RCI, our Members will have the ability to make weekly and nightly exchanges, including expanded all-inclusive options and 16 high-end weekly RCI Registry Exchanges. This new relationship offers enhanced flexibility and more experiential diversity than ever before with a broader range of resort experiences and length-of-stay options.

Enjoy true spontaneity. RCI's Nightly Exchange program lets you customize your vacation plans for as little as one night up to as many nights as you desire. And now you can book as far out as 10 months in advance to as few as 48 hours from check-in.

As expected, Disney Vacation Club has limited the list of resorts for which DVC members can exchange their points.  Members do not have access to the full slate of 4000+ RCI properties.  The list of eligible destinations is available at DVCMember.com.

The exchange fees are unchanged at $95 and the weekly point requirements are comparable to the rates offered with Interval International.  Under the nightly exchange program, Studio villas are available for as little as 12 points per night in Low Season.
